Carson-Newman Army ROTC holds Branch Night, celebrates senior class

Carson-Newman University’s Army ROTC recently held its annual Branch night. Cadets recognized during the evening are pictured left to right: CDT Gabriel Mathis, U.S. Army Reserves (awaiting allocation); CDT Zachary Sexton, U.S. Army Reserves (awaiting allocation); Sammi Simpson, Active Duty Military Intelligence; CDT Madison Bean, Education Delay, will pursue a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tennessee; CDT Hannah Ogstad, Active Duty Armor; CDT Kyle Nabe, Active Duty Medical Service Corps.

Carson-Newman University held its annual Army ROTC held Branch Night. The event celebrates the revealing of the senior class’s branching and components as they continue their pursuits to be future Army Officers.

The celebrated cadets have a combined grade point average of 3.5. Their ratings at camp leveraged Carson-Newman to the top 10 in brigade of 38 schools. Two members are in the top 10 in the nation, while two are distinguished military graduates in the nation of over 5,240 cadets. One reserve cadet is listed in the top 100 cadets of reserves out of over 3,000 reserve component cadets.

Of this year’s class five of the six cadets received one of their top two choices for branching assignments, while four of the six received their number one choice for branch.
